As I became more comfortable with and confident in my use of digital media, the work I made become more complex, less graphic, and more like my conventional painting.
I began working with more and more layers, and relying increasingly on importing photographs, patterns and digitised images into the paintings; as well as recycling elements of other work – drawings, warm-up exercises, paintings (incomplete and finished), collages, as well as utilising layers from other digital paintings – into these pieces.
My analog work and digital work increasingly began to run parallel with each other – sharing ideas and inspiration, as well as actual drawn or painted elements, cross-pollinating back-and-forth.
