20 x 24″ (50 x 60 cm) Acrylic on canvas. A commissioned painting, created in 2012. SOLD

A landscape painting with lots of simulated texture in acrylic paints, spray paint, charcoal and artists crayons showing a stone circle. The tall stones are closest at the right and stretch away in an arc to the left, getting smaller and more distant. They're of rough, lichen covered grey rock with cracks and texture. A path of worn short grass runs directly in front of them, fading into rich red and purple heathers to the centre of the circle, in the left of the painting. The sky is pale blues and lurid yellows, cloudy with a hint or rain or snow.

A very tall elongated canvas with abstract mixed media painting on a soft white ground. Wandering, graceful, fluid charcoal lines effectively form a stretched figure of eight shape, with the bottom section twice the height of the upper part. Around the lies are brushes marks in shades of both cool and warm greens. The effect is harmonious, restful and painterly.
