A digital artwork reminiscent of paper collage. The canvas is divided into vertical strips of different widths, carefully and aesthetically balanced. Each has its own infill of colour, texture, pattern and mottled, watercolour like paint layers. The biggest right-hand section contains the star-like repeating pattern of fossil coral. drawn lines, stripes, sketched dashes, scribbles and smudges abound, in tones of navy blue, oranges, pinks and ochre yellow.

2024 A short series I made in which I wanted to showcase certain patterns I was finding in fossils and geological formations.

Three semi-transparent layers of separate pattern, reminiscent of printing techniques, are layered one over the next to form interesting interactions and shapes. Burgundy red, pale yellow, and coral orange. Each is formed of shapes traced from the remnants of ancient fossil oyster shells in rocks, forming curls, rings, blobs, spots.

Gryphaea

2023 I took a fossil hunting trip to the Isle of Skye, where (in the Jurassic-age rocks around Broadford) I encountered mass death plates of Gryphaea fossils.
