I wanted to revisit a lot of reoccurring themes that I had used in over the last few years in my digital abstract work, now that I had used and thought about them a lot – the use of a grey ground as a foil for a complex colour palette, ‘cloud-like’ interwoven detail, wandering ‘pencil lines’, frames / windows, inclusion of photographic textures and patterns… A single colour palette and strict adherence to these visual principals unified the resultant work, which seemed both familiar and finessed beyond previous experiments.
