When you’re feeling a bit poorly there’s nothing like a mega-trawl of Ebay looking for all weird and wonderful things for sale… Here’s today’s round-up of the crazy, beautiful and unexpected!
These props from the 1997 film, ‘The Borrowers’
Those who’ve seen the film (or remember the story) will know it centres around tiny-sized people who live in secret and adapt the everyday objects of standard-sized humans to creatively use as tools, furniture and everything else needed for everyday thumb-sized person life.
J.R.R. Tolkien’s Fireplace
Recued from his former home ‘Woodrings’ before it’s demolition, you can toast your tired Hobbit-feet beside the authors very own hearth.
This stunning 1950s-style Illustration by Pauline Annon…
Pauline has worked with the film industry on illustrations for films such as ‘Shampoo’ and ‘Fight Club’. She is also an Painter, see here for an example of her exquisite expressive abstracts.
Incidentally, I just discovered that Pauline was the artist responsible for painting the tiger head on the back of Murdoch’s brown leather jacket in the 80s series the A-Team.
